RECORD STORE DAY 2025 INFORMATION

APRIL 12, 2025 9am-8pm

Welcome to the Guestroom Record Store Day Information page for RSD 2025! We have proudly participated in Record Store Day festivities since we opened our doors in the fall of 2013. If you’ve participated with us in RSD before, you know the most of the drill but you might want to refresh. If you’re new, WELCOME! We’re excited to see you! Read up below for general information, when we expect to know more about releases, and how to prepare for RSD.

The most common question we get asked is, “Will you have ——- release for record store day?”

Unfortunatley, we can’t tell you for sure until we see it in our hands. Every year we order at least one copy of approximately 90% of official RSD Titles and order large quantities of items that we know are in high demand. However, given the limited nature of RSD releases, we never know exactly what we will have available for purchase until days before the event as RSD titles can be in transit all the way up to the big day. To help you plan your Record Store day, check back on Thursday April 10th when…

An up-to-date list of confirmed in stock RSD titles will be posted here on Thursday 4.10.25

That list will tell you if we think we got very few, a good amount, or plenty of an RSD release and allow you to plan just how early you may need to come out to grab that sought after album.

Hours:

We will be opening 3 hours early on Saturday April 12th for RSD at 9am. Line forms with the first person who shows up and will run west on Frankfort (toward the river, Hilltop, Bae’s Bakery, etc). PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL WHILE WAITING IN LINE.

Waiting in Line/Getting in:

When 9am hits, we will begin letting in the first people in line, 5 people at a time, in 3-5 minute intervals OR LONGER to manage the crowd size inside the store.  Please be courteous to our neighbors and each other as you wait.

Where will I find RSD releases?:

All RSD iitems will be on the walls, column shelves and display racks. LP releases will line the walls in alphabetical order, starting to the immediate left and running clockwise through the entire store.  Box sets and oddly sized items will be on a display at the counter. As always, if you need help locating an item, just look for a staff member with a clipboard and ask! We are happy to help!

Rules:

NO HOLDING SPACES IN LINE - Spaces may not be held for others (with the exception of small self-care breaks). Your human body must be in line (i.e. no chairs, etc holding a space for you). Do be neighborly if your line partners needs to excuse themselves for a moment. Have fun with your fellow vinyl listening family!! And remember, when the doors finally open, crowding the human in front of you will not get you the item you want any quicker.

Only 1 RSD item of its kind per person (i.e. No, we’re super sorry but you can’t pick up an extra special release for a friend.) RSD releases are first come, first served.

No holds on special RSD releases.

How Early do people start lining up?

It changes every year, but the very first person in line historically camps out starting the afternoon/evening before.

Will there still be online shopping for Record Store Day?

The last few years we have had such a successful sell-through of product in store that there has been very little to sell online. We suggest visiting us in person on Sunday April 13th if you are unable to make it out for the big event. IF we have a reasonable amount of items still available, we will put those for sale on our website at 8am on Monday April 14th. Please note that after our store reopens on Monday at noon there is a chance that items could sell in the store before online quantities can be adjusted.

What else will be going on for Record Store Day?

In addition to RSD releases we will have a storewide sale on all non-rsd items and we’re stocking up on choice used records special for that day too! It’s an all day celebration of independent record stores and a day to say thank you for your support.
