*** PLEASE NOTE ***

Due to the influx in business this holiday season, as of 12/16/2024 we will be taking a brief pause on purchasing or receiving used LPs, CDs or cassettes of any kind. We will resume purchasing again on 1/6/2025. Thank you for your patience! Happy Holidays!

WE BUY RECORDS!!!

Do you have vinyl, CDs or tapes to sell? We love buying records. We love finding homes for cherished items and for albums you may just not need anymore. But, please read over the following information regarding what we buy

1)  Record Collections may be dropped off during regular store hours. We kindly ask that you give us a courtesy call ahead before dropping off large collections (50 or more LPs) so we can have space available to receive them.

2)   We will examine your collections outside of regular store hours and contact you with an offer. Once the offer has been made you have 10 days to accept the offer and/or pick up your records. PLEASE NOTE: Items left for more than 30 days will be considered abandoned and donated to a local charity or sold in the store.

3)  We will do smaller buys at the counter AS WE ARE ABLE based on staff availability. Please note, it may look like we are available to you to process a used buy at the counter, but we could have other work to accomplish and/or may not have a buyer on site at that time. Please be courteous with staff if you are asked to drop off records. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE ANY IN-PERSON BUYING.

4) We do not buy 78s, 8tracks and may be on a pause for buying CDs or 45s depending on space available in the store.

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What genre of records do you all buy?

We are primarily interested in records across all genres from the mid-1960s through today. We have limited space and little demand for most records prior to this time period unless they are Jazz, Blues or Folk recordings. If most of your collection is prior to this time frame, call the shop before coming in so we can best advise you on our level of need, or if donation may be a better alternative.

Can I just donate these records to you?

While we appreciate the sentiment, we only accept donations with a store owner’s pre-authorization. If it seems like a collection we could use, we will gladly buy those records from you or pass the amount we could pay to a store chosen charity.

How much do you pay per record?

Unfortunately, this is an impossible question without seeing each record in person. Some records we may pay as little as a quarter for or pass on completely, others may be quite rare, and we may pay $30 or more.  Generally, we pay on average between $1 and $8 per record for any records we guarantee in our store.

I have too many records to carry to the store, do you make house calls?

We will do house calls if when it makes sense and is safe to do so. Give us a call at the shop, or contact us via the webpage, for further questions and to set up an appointment. We often recommend pulling a small representative selection of your collection to bring into the store. We can walk you through what we are most interested in and so you can get a sense of our buying process.

Do you buy 45s?

Sometimes! Most 45s were well loved, carted around, and therefore not in the best condition in the current day, but we always love taking a look at them.

Do you buy CDs?

We do, but we also pause CD buying from time to time depending on the capacity of our CD section. Its best to call and talk to a staff member about your CD collection before bringing it in. We only buy CDs in very good to excellent condition from artists that sell well in our store. We don’t re-surface CDs so they should be free from or have minimal scratches.

Do you buy tapes?

We do! Tapes should be in very good to excellent condition and have original pads in place.

Do you buy Blue-Rays & DVDS?

Mostly No. We will buy some music tour films, videos, and documentaries.

RECORDS WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN:

Records that have significant mold, mildew, water or rodent damage.

Records that are significantly warped and/or scratched.

Records without original packaging.  (45s without original are okay, but may not be very valuable)

Records as part of Time-Life or Box Sets prior to 1970s (they seem cool but are truly unsellable and take up a lot of space)

Sealed new records in multiple quantities.

  • We know box lots of new (in the last 5 years) records have started surfacing, especially in our area with nearby mass retailer shipment facilities, but we will always buy large stock of new records direct from our distributors to ensure that artists are compensated for their work.

Records that are stolen or that make any staff member suspect they may be stolen. DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.
