Working at Guestroom Records

Your responsibility as a member of the Guestroom staff is to help us facilitate the very best record shopping experience for our customers. This includes welcoming guests to the store, answering questions about inventory, staying aware of new and upcoming releases, and helping customers navigate the store to find the albums they love. Staff members must be able to complete basic retail transactions. This includes ringing sales, processing payments, making special orders and accounting for daily sales totals. You will help us maintain store standards with routine stocking, organizing and tidying of floor merchandise. Perhaps most importantly, you will serve as an ambassador of Guestroom Records. From helping people wishing to sell a loved one's record collection to offering local dining recommendations to out-of-town guests, working at Guestroom often goes far beyond the music.

Qualities we are looking for in ideal job candidates:

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Excellent customer service engagement

  • Basic computer literacy and math skills

  • Attention to detail and organization

  • Weekend availability 

  • A flexible schedule

  • Creative thinking and problem solving

  • A record, cd, or tape collection or a desire to cultivate one

  • At least 18 years of age

  • And of course... passion for music and community!
